Sub-Sea-Net
underwater soundscape
PCM 2.0 stereo sound, 48 kHz, 16 bit, 3’37” loop, 2002
“Sub-sea-net” explores the idea of connectivity and communication through the sea. It presents acoustic information – obscure verbal transmissions – that has been extracted from the sea.
These underwater recordings of human voices were found at a location in Dalmatia within three nautical miles of man. The voices were captured using a hydrophone and the original voices of the people remain authentic.
