Solid Works

photography
Island of Veli Drvenik, Croatia, 2020

Trapped on an isolated island during COVID-19 lockdown, unable to continue my art projects, I have turned to the work in the landscape – in the derelict karst terrain. I have shifted from soft to hard work. This process was started nearly four years ago with sporadic interventions and now, finally there is enough time for continuous work. Besides the obvious physical results, this work has a therapeutic quality or simply put – how to stay healthy and sane. While I’m working, I often think about late works by Ivan Ladislav Galeta from the “Endart” series and the way in which he managed to transfer from the video/film space to the space of agriculture/landscape. I cannot see the end. I feel as if I am in some kind of loop.
